Privacy notice

Your privacy on FareGrid.

This notice explains how the FareGrid public-beta flight and stay search, optional account and prepared booking checkout handle information. It will be expanded with verified operator details, lawful bases and final booking-retention periods before checkout is activated.

Public-beta notice: Flight search, the Stays search interface and optional accounts are available. Live accommodation results depend on Duffel approving Stays access. Customer payment, ticket booking and accommodation booking remain disabled.

Information you provide

When you search for flights, FareGrid processes journey details such as origin, destination, travel dates, cabin, passenger count and the ages of travellers under 18. When you search for stays, FareGrid processes the selected destination and its search coordinates, check-in and check-out dates, room count, guest count, children’s ages and selected search preferences. FareGrid does not currently collect guest names or payment details for a stay booking because stay booking is not enabled. If flight checkout is activated and you proceed, FareGrid also processes passenger names, titles, gender, dates of birth, email addresses, telephone numbers, acceptance of the booking terms, payment status and booking references.

Saved searches and device storage

Saved searches, recent searches and interface preferences are stored in your browser on your device. They are not user accounts and do not create email alerts. You can remove them through the FareGrid interface or clear this site’s browser storage.

Accounts

FareGrid can use Sign in with ChatGPT to identify you without receiving your ChatGPT password. FareGrid receives a site-specific user identifier, email address and, when available, display name. Bookings made while signed in are linked to that identifier so they can appear in your FareGrid account history.

Travel supplier

Flight searches and, once supplier access is enabled, stay searches are sent securely through FareGrid’s server to Duffel with the details required for each request. FareGrid keeps the supplier access token on the server and does not expose it to your browser. Duffel, relevant airlines and accommodation providers process data under their applicable privacy terms. FareGrid's Stays integration is limited to searching properties and retrieving room rates; it does not create accommodation bookings.

Payments

If flight checkout is activated, payments will be handled on Stripe's hosted checkout. FareGrid will receive payment identifiers and status but will not receive or store full card numbers. A card payment would first be authorised and captured only after the supplier confirms the airline order; an unsuccessful booking would release or cancel the payment authorisation where possible.

Technical information

The hosting service and server may temporarily process standard technical information needed to operate and protect the site, such as request timestamps, IP addresses, device or browser information, error logs and security events.

How information is used

  • To run the flight or stay search you request.
  • To display and organise supplier results.
  • To keep the service secure, diagnose failures and prevent abuse.
  • To meet legal obligations that apply to the operator.

Cookies and tracking

The current FareGrid build does not include advertising trackers. Essential hosting or authentication technology may still be used to deliver and protect the site. Any future analytics or marketing technology will be disclosed before it is introduced.

Retention and sharing

FareGrid does not sell personal information. Flight-booking passenger details will be encrypted before database storage when checkout is activated. Information may be processed by the hosting provider, Stripe, Duffel and the relevant airline or accommodation as needed to operate the service, prevent fraud, return search results, complete an enabled flight booking or meet legal obligations. Access is limited to authorised personnel. Final booking retention and deletion periods will be documented before checkout is activated.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of personal information, and to object or complain to a data-protection authority. A verified privacy contact route will appear on the Contact page before booking checkout is activated.

Changes to this notice

This notice may change as FareGrid adds accounts, alerts, flight booking, stay booking or analytics. The latest version will remain available on this page with its revision date.
